A broad technical expertise covering mechanical, manufacturing, materials and metallurgical engineering and science disciplines of chemistry and biochemistry benefits Dale as a patent attorney. Dale has bachelor degrees from the University of Queensland which according to the Australian Universities website (and as at 4 October 2012) has a national ranking of 4 and a world ranking of 65.

Dale also has industry experience with ANI Bradken (now Bradken) which was a leading manufacturer of mining equipment. Bradken is now a leading global supplier of differentiated consumable and capital products. Dale and one of his colleagues applied engineering time and motion methodology to improve foundry manufacturing processes.

Dale has been a fellow of the Institute of Patent and Trademark Attorneys Australia (IPTA) since 2001 and has been a member of the Australian association of the Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle (FICPI) since 2009. FICPI is one of the world’s leading patent attorney organisations. It works with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and national and regional patent and trademark offices throughout the world to assist the development and progression of intellectual property protection and enforcement. It also attracts the world’s leading professionals in intellectual property to speak at its conferences including leading judges of the Australian Federal Court, the UK and the federal circuit of the US. Dale has attended a number of annual conferences of FICPI since 2009.
